Motorhead at Club Nokia Next Friday

There may be no band more legendary in the genre of classic metal than Motorhead. The trio, led by legendary bassist and front-man Lemmy Kilminster, has developed a cult following rivaled by few other fan-bases in the history of music. Lemmy is known for frequenting the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood whenever he is not on tour, so we can expect the gravelly-voiced rock legend to be in his element on his home turf in LA, performing at Club Nokia this Friday, April 11th.

The band is touring in support of their 2013 release, Aftershock, which is the band’s 21st full-length. The album has received generally positive reviews, and you can expect to hear both cuts from the new, blues-oriented record, as well as classic Motorhead favorites. The hard-living Lemmy’s recent health issues caused some dates on the current tour to be rescheduled, but he is back at it again and seems to be in good shape. We expect exactly what you should from a Motorhead show, and that is hard-hitting, high-energy, fast, and loud straight-ahead classic metal.

Whether you are a big Motorhead fan, or just someone wanting to experience a real, ballsy rock ‘n roll show and see what the fuss is all, you will definitely want to hit up Club Nokia this Friday to see these legends perform. Every music fan should say that they’ve seen Lemmy live and in the flesh at least once, and with his recent health concerns, now is the time to see the 68 year-old hard rocker and company do their thing in concert.

The band will perform with support from openers Graveyard and Unlocking The Truth. For more information on the show to purchase tickets, please click here.

The National at Shrine Auditorium This Tuesday

Lovers of indie rock darlings The National will definitely want to be at the Shrine in Los Angeles this Tuesday, March 25th, as the group will be premiering the new National documentary film Mistaken For Strangers in addition to performing a full-length concert.

The story behind the film is quite interesting; the group is made up of two pairs of brothers in addition to singer Matt Berninger, the odd-man-out in the sibling partnership-based lineup. Berninger decided to do something about that by bringing his metalhead younger brother Tom on tour with the group as a roadie. However, the plot quickly went in an unexpected direction as Tom decided to eschew his roadie duties in favor of filming an impromptu tour documentary on the band, with a focus on the unusual and tentative family dynamic between Berninger and himself. Between the usual band tour documentary tropes and the unique exploration of sibling dynamics, the film is surprisingly poignant and one that lovers of the group and great documentary cinema alike will certainly not want to miss.

Paul Simon and Sting at The Forum

It is not every day that you get to see musical living legends of the caliber of Paul Simon and Sting performing at the same place at one time, and that is just what will be occurring this Saturday, February 15th at The Forum in LA.

These men need no introduction, but in brief, Simon is known both for being a member of seminal folk-popsters Simon and Garfunkel as well as enjoying a long and illustrious solo career, most notably including the groundbreaking hit album Graceland. Sting also enjoyed success in one of the most popular groups of all time in The Police, and is also a very influential solo artist in his own right. There are few artists still active today who have had the amount of chart-topping hits and overall cultural impact as Sting and Simon, meaning this should be a very special night of Valentine’s Day weekend music at The Forum.

Not only will you get to see both artists performing their own sets of classic hits and newer material alike, but the two will also join forces for a collaborative set from which we really don’t know what to expect. We are excited to see what goes down as two titans of music come together on the same stage, and anticipate some unique reworkings of both artist’s top favorites in a collaborative setting.

For more information and to purchase tickets, please click here. We would be hard-pressed to imagine a better way to spend V-Day Saturday night with your partner than enjoying the romantic sounds of two of the greatest musical artists of our time at The Forum.

Justin Timberlake at the Forum This Monday

There are few celebrities of his caliber who have played the game as well as Justin Timberlake; the former Mickey Mouse club child star and boy band heartthrob could easily have gone the way of many a washed-up, too-much-too-soon star of yore, but not JT. Not only has he enjoyed a career as a respected thespian post-‘N Sync, but he has released multiple solo efforts, including the recent two-part 20/20 Experience which have not only been mainstream pop successes, but have been critically acclaimed and respected by serious music fans.

Timberlake will be bringing his unique, danceable, baby-making R&B stylings to Los Angeles’ Forum this Monday, January 20th, as part of his 20/20 Experience world tour. JT went on a six-year hiatus from music to focus on acting prior to getting back in the game in 2013, meaning that a Justin Timberlake stadium show is not something that happens every day and you never know when you might get to see him perform again. Tickets are not yet sold out, so grab them now while you can. Be sure to rock your “Suit and Tie” as this promises to be a grown and sexy type of affair.
